Causes of Poverty:

Poverty refers to the condition of not having the means to afford basic human needs such as clean water, nutrition, health care, clothing and shelter.

1. High population growth rate .
2. Illiteracy
3. Environmental degradation.
4. No attention is given to already poor families instead they are being tortured
and hence poverty continues.
5. Corruption
6. Physical or mental handicap or disability
7. Family break-up

This is not to say that all people with any of these problems must be poor or
must become poor. It is to say these are the common contributors to poverty.

When we talk about poverty ,we see in the whole world ratio is very high. Begging becomes a profession in the whole world due to poverty.Poverty is linked to economic,social,cultural and political factors that interact to maintain long term structural disparities in opportunities and resources. Poverty can be seen as a form of material deprivation often indicating a lack of resources needed for basic survival, but is mainly characterized by the range of problems generated, such as vulnerability and pattern of hardship, as a result of it.

Defination of poverty

According to wikipedia, Poverty is defined as the state of having little or no money and few or no material possesion. It refers to condition of human being when he is unable to afford minimum basic needs like food, clothing, shelter, health etc. Poverty is a global issue.According to world bank, Today most of the countries in world are under poverty line. It is the main obstacle in development of world economy. Governments are stressing on this issue from time to time.
